PokemonGo Generation 2 Release: New Baby Pokemon and New Pokedex Entries

December 12th, 2016 | PokemonGo News

PokemonGo Generation 2 Update

PokemonGo December update brings us a new intro screen with Pikachu busy switching on the lights. Beyond the new welcome picture, two baby pokemon Togepi and Pichu are officially announced as the first Generation 2 pokemon, released into the game. They can be hatched from eggs.

If you already have a Pikachu or Raichu, you can now see the baby Pichu shadow in the Pokedex, just before Pikachu. However Pichu is not the only baby you can now see in the Pokedex – six new gen 2 babies have made an appearance. They are: Pichu, Cleffa, Elekid, Igglypuff, Magby and Smoochum.

PokemonGo Elekid Baby PokemonBaby pokemon can fight in gyms just like any other pokemon, which raises questions about child abuse (punch the baby, anyone?) and child exploitation (since when babies working overnight is OK?) 😉

Get Ready for PokemonGo Generation 2

December 7th, 2016 | PokemonGo News

New pokemon will be introduced to PokemonGo on Monday, 12th of December, according to Niantic.

The upcoming release of Generation 2 pokemon might be the reason why rare pokemon like Duduo, Vulpix and Charmander started to appear much more often. Ditto made an appearance two weeks ago, and is now relatively common. If you haven’t got Ditto yet, don’t despair, just keep hunting for Rattatas, Pidgeys, Zubats and Magikarps – you’ll get it eventually.

The only Generation 1 pokemon that weren’t yet introduced into the game are the MewMewtwo, and the three legendary birds: Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres.

If you’re close to completing your pokedex, now is the time to think about the candies that will be useful for evolving Generation 2 pokemon.

Pokémon candy you should save for Generation 2

Some of the Generation 2 pokemon are evolutions of Generation 1 pokemon, so don’t waste all your candy now, it will become useful very soon. Here’s the type of candy you should save.
